 The Stonewall National Museum Archives and Library is a safe and welcoming place that inspires and promotes understanding through collecting, preserving and sharing the proud culture of LGBTQIA+ people of all stories and their significant role in American society. We are a repository of documents and artifacts representing our rich gay history.  GayBarchives is an independent research project committed to the documentation of the bars, restaurants and safe spaces that played an important role in the growth and development of our queer community.  SNMAL has been an indispensable resource in the pursuit of our mission to bring the history of LGBTQ+ bars to the forefront.  The



FEBRUARY 2024 - ANNUAL GALA
PLEASE JOIN US
The evening will commence at 6:00 pm with a cocktail reception in the Venue’s Epic Ballroom with delicious hors d’oeuvres, open bar, and fabulous silent auction. 
At 7:00 pm guests will be invited into the Crystal Ballroom for more festivities including dinner with an open bar, entertainment, awards, and live auction. Over 500+ guests and VIPs are expected to attend.

Last years’ Gala had a record number of guests attending and raised a recording breaking amount of funds. The Gala is Stonewall’s largest fundraising event generating almost 50% of the organization’s operating funds.

One of our current projects:
One of the projects we have undertaken is to identify those legendary bars that have served the LGBTQ+ community for decades and who continue to serve us in 2023. We have identified more than 30 gay bars that have operated for at least 50 years - over 20 that predate the Stonewall uprising. #RaisingTheBars #gayhistory #ilovegaybars
