Documentary Video Project
In March of 2023 we returned to 'my happy place' to document the remarkable variety of diverse and accepting businesses in Wilton Manors. With a footprint of less than two square miles this gay oasis boasts dozens of retail shops, bars, guest houses and eateries catering to the growing queer community. Originally projected to be an hour in length, it soon became obvious that this would not be adequate to fully represent the local gay scene. We are currently editing Part One. We will be returning to Wilton Manors in June to capture more of this vibrant and colorful slice of paradise.

South Florida has always attracted gay travelers.
In decades past Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Key West drew thousands upon thousands of LGBTQ vacationers to soak up the sunshine and enjoy the abundance of bars, restaurants and hotels that welcomed them.
Today, the tiny island city of Wilton Manors
continues that tradition.

ABOUT THE VIDEO:

We are DONE editing Part One.
We have returned to Wilton Manors several times 
since then to capture more 
of this vibrant and colorful slice of paradise. Part Two 
features even more local treasures.
